Treee City is the electronic music project of Durham-based recording artist Patrick Phelps-McKeown. Since 2002, he has been producing dancefloor-focused music that draws inspiration from field recordings, pop radio, vintage technology, and 90’s rave nostalgia. A founding member of Durham’s celebrated crew Party Illegal, his desire to get people on the floor has grown into an emotive musical style propelled by rolling drums and tectonic basslines. His roots in North Carolina’s dance music scene have led to releases on Raund Haus and Maison Fauna; festival appearances at Moogfest, Hopscotch, Brickside, Jamnesia, Summa Bumma, and Sine Wave Surfers; as well as sharing stages with artists like Sylvan Esso, Steve Aoki, Daedelus, Laurel Halo, Sinistarr, Giraffage, and Braille.
